Vancouver Whitecaps are only two more draws away from equaling the MLS record of six straight games sharing the points. Three more and they set a new record. Come on boys, you can do it. Let's go out there and make some history!
There's every chance they'll inch closer to it on Friday when they travel to the Rocky Mountain state, not for chocolate covered cravings but to take on Colorado Rapids in MLS action.
The Rapids are bad this year. If the Whitecaps can't beat them, do they deserve to even make it to the playoffs? Joe, Nick, and Gideon ponder that question, plus look at the dangers Colorado pose to the Vancouver defence, and the dangers Tim Howard poses to his own one.
Who will win the golden ticket in this week's Whitecaps rotation lottery? Has Kei Kamara put his misses behind him or will we see him drop to the bench this week? And who steps up to fill Kendall Waston's huge shoes in the centre of the 'Caps defence?
All this plus Do You Know Who I Am? and our prediction game in our latest episode. Have a listen!

Another week, another draw, another week, another match of individual errors, another week, another game of frustration. Welcome to Vancouver Whitecaps World 2018. Strap yourselves in, it's a bumpy ride.
The 'Caps made it four draws in a row on Saturday at home to New England. Now they just need two more in the next two games to set a league record. Go team! We look back at the points dropped to the Revolution, where it all went wrong, where it all went right, and where do we go from here. Plus we hear from both head coaches, New England's Brad Friedel and Vancouver's Carl Robinson.
AFTN writer Chris Corrigan joins us in the studio this week to talk about all that and a lot more. We also take a look at the latest news surrounding the Canadian Premier League and the latest rumours about teams here in BC. Plus how the weekend played out for the MLS western teams, TSS Rovers talk, and Pete Green makes his debut in our Wavelength section with a Grimsby Town related tune.

With his teacup spinning days sadly in the past, Gideon returns to the fold this week to rejoin up with Joe and Nick to look ahead to Vancouver Whitecaps' Saturday afternoon encounter with New England Revolution.
They don't want to change the world, they're just looking at New England, but they have been buoyed by the 'Caps late dramatic draw in Dallas. Will it be four draws on the bounce or can the Whitecaps finally snap out of their disappointing home form and get back to winning ways?
Who poses the danger for New England? Will Teal Bunbury's resurgence continue in the country he turned his back on? And how will the 'Caps line up for this one, another 4-4-2? These are just a few of the many questions they ponder.
All this plus Do You Know Who I Am? and our prediction game in our latest episode. Have a listen!

It's a long weekend, so we have an extra long episode of the AFTN Soccer Show for you as we took over the airwaves at CiTR radio for two and a half hours on Sunday night.
Vancouver Whitecaps showed a never say die spirit in Dallas on Saturday afternoon (or should that be Dai with a Welshman in charge?), fighting back from 2-0 down to score a couple of very late goals to earn the unlikeliest of points. We look back over the dramatic afternoon and chat about the main talking points coming out of it. Plus we hear from both head coaches, Dallas' Oscar Pareja and Vancouver's Carl Robinson.
We've got two feature interviews for you this episode. First up is Whitecaps' Canadian defender Marcel de Jong, as he joins us to chat about the stability of signing a new contract extension. Then former Whitecap Kekuta Manneh joins us to chat about his move to Mexico, Columbus Crew falling short in their quest for last year's MLS Cup, and what it means to his hometown of Austin to possibly be getting a new MLS team.
We also take a look at the latest news surrounding the Canadian Premier League, in what's been a big week for them. Plus how the weekend played out for the MLS western teams, Whitecaps midfielder Jordon Mutch talks television, and The Others make their debut in our Wavelength section.
Here's the full episode rundown of the main segments from the show:
02.49: Dallas v Vancouver match analysis
17.33: Oscar Pareja and Carl Robinson audio

With Gideon still absent after an unfortunate incident with Daisy Duck, Joe and Nick man the barricades in a way that the Whitecaps defence can only look on at with jealousy.
It's the guys first Review/Preview show of the season and for once they don't just get to look ahead all joyfully at the weekend's action to come. Now they have to suffer the pain of the Sunday crew and pick over a disappointing display by the 'Caps.
Vancouver's 2-2 draw with San Jose Earthquakes is in the spotlight. What went wrong this time, as another two points were dropped at home? More chances wasted, more sloppy defending, more disgruntlement amongst the fanbase. It's not the happiest time in Whitecapsland and the guys try to address as much of that as they can. Plus we hear postgame comments from both head coaches, San Jose's Mikael Stahre and Vancouver's Carl Robinson.
Can the 'Caps turn things around in a timely manner? Well we won't have to wait too long to find out, with the team heading into the intense afternoon Texan heat to face an in-form, and frankly terrifying prospect, at FC Dallas. Is this a throwaway game? Should the 'Caps just go for a near full rotation and go young? We've seen understrength teams battle for unexpected points this year, or does that only happen against the 'Caps.
If we're quaking in our boots at the prospect of this one, after recent results, is there actually any team in MLS right now that we can look forward to facing? All this and more awaits your earholes in our latest episode. Have a listen!

What a busy weekend it's been. Vancouver Whitecaps on Friday, the Provincial cup finals on Saturday and Sunday, TSS Rovers kick off their PDL season on Monday, then it's more 'Caps and more Rovers. But fret not, we have it all covered for you in our latest episode.
We kick things off with a look back at the Whitecaps 2-2 draw with Houston Dynamo on Friday night. Late drama and a lot of frustration at the missed chances once again on display. We pick over the bones of the game and the players performances and hear from both head coaches, Houston's Wilmer Cabrera and Vancouver's Carl Robinson.
Next up is San Jose on Wednesday. The Earthquakes got out of their three game losing streak, and seven game winless streak, at the weekend. Can they make it back to back road wins? We look ahead to the match up, who the key players might be, and what we should expect from the 'Caps, who have three games in nine days.
It's also the season opener for TSS Rovers today. We chat with head coach Colin Elmes about the season ahead and lessons learned from last year, and to one of their newest additions, player/coach, and former TFC man, Nick Soolsma, fresh from winning a Provincial title with BCT Rovers Tigers United.
Plus we take a look at the latest Whitecaps salaries that have come out, see how the weekend played out for the MLS western teams, discuss the latest big Canadian Premier League news and other headlines, and Goldie Lookin' Chain return for our Wavelength section.

Finally, we have back to back home games! But be careful what you wish for because that means watching Vancouver Whitecaps live twice in the space of six days. Are you ready for that?
We'll try and help you get ready for the first match on Friday, as we take a look at all things Houston Dynamo in AFTN's latest preview podcast.
They're a team that don't travel well, but are coming off a late 3-2 win over LA Galaxy. Are they hitting form at just the worst time for the 'Caps? Can a shaky Vancouver defence handle the likes of Elis and Quioto? What changes will Carl Robinson make this week? And will anyone be on the end of all those crosses this game?
Gideon is away dressing up as a Disney Princess for this episode, raising the average age of the team to not quite DC United levels, but getting up there. So that leaves Joe and Nick to chat about all of the above and much more, including World Cup jerseys, answering a barrage of listeners questions, and playing our prediction game.

Remember when Vancouver Whitecaps were being lauded for their excellent road record? That seems so long ago now. Saturday's 1-0 loss in Minnesota was the third straight away defeat for the 'Caps. This one against an already undermanned team that played 40 minutes of the second half with ten men. Definitely a Cinco de Mayo to forget.
We look back at the high and lows from the match, talk line-ups and formations, bring you our latest player rankings, and hear from both head coaches, Minnesota's Adrian Heath and Vancouver's Carl Robinson.
Where now for the Whitecaps? Did the RSL win last week just paper over the cracks or should we just be content that the team is currently sitting in third spot?
We also see how the weekend played out for the MLS western teams, discuss the latest big Canadian Premier League news and other headlines, play another round of Do You Know Who I Am? and Half Man Half Biscuit return for our Wavelength section.
Here's the full episode rundown of the main segments from the show:
02.14: Minnesota v Vancouver match analysis
23.47: Adrian Heath and Carl Robinson audio
33.28: Was the RSL win last week just papering over cracks?
38.45: Whitecaps player analysis
49.01: Do You Know Who I Am?

It wasn't pretty at times but Vancouver Whitecaps got back to winning ways last weekend against Real Salt Lake. Can they keep it going back on the road, and make it two straight wins as they head into Minnesota to take on the United Loons?
Joe, Nick, and Gideon are back to look ahead to that Minnesota match and what to make of a United team that's had a very up and down season so far. How big a threat will Darwin Quintero be to the 'Caps defence and do they have any other one with all their injury woes? On Vancouver's side, who keeps their spot after last week's win and which players that missed out will come back into the mix?
We look at all that, plus a lot more, and bring you, not one, but two, "Do You Know Who I Am?" segments, our prediction game, and preview TSS Rovers second PDL season.

Monday Apr 30, 2018
The questions everyone wanted answered after last week's hammering in Kansas City was how would Vancouver Whitecaps' players react and what kind of mood would the fans be in. After a week building up to it, we got some answers at BC Place on Friday night.
The Whitecaps got the job done against Real Salt Lake and came away with all three points, but it wasn't a performance for the ages against a pretty poor looking visiting side. Still, three points are three points and it ended the 'Caps three game losing streak. Steve, Zach, and Chris pick over the bones of it all. Is it a turning point or was it just papering over the cracks?
We also hear from both head coaches, discuss the dissenting voices amongst the media and fanbase leading up to the match, see how the weekend played out for the MLS western teams, discuss the latest big Canadian Premier League news, and Culture Vulture has a song about Roy of the Rovers in our Wavelength section.
Here's the full episode rundown of the main segments from the show:
