No football. No problem. The latest AFTN Soccer Show is out and not only is it as packed as usual, it's also one of our longest ever episodes. We'll leave that up to you to decide if that's a good thing or not!
Global football has ground to a halt, but not in Belarus! We look at the latest coming from some of the leagues and governing bodies around the world as to what directions they're looking at taking when games can return and we pick our new favourite team to follow, FK Slutsk of the Belarusian Premier League.
We chat with Vancouver Whitecaps CEO Mark Pannes to discuss how the Whitecaps and MLS have been handling the latest crisis, we check in with Whitecaps striker Lucas Cavallini to see how his family are dealing with everything right now and talk about the season so far, and we get on a conference call with former fan favourite Kendall Waston to see how life is treating him down in Cincinnati.
This break could actually prove to be very beneficial to the Whitecaps as it lets them get all their players fit, healthy, and up to speed. 'Caps coach Marc Dos Santos joins us to chat about that, the season so far, whether the current situation affects any summer transfer plans, and he gives us an insight into what his new daily routine looks like.
We also sit down with FC Edmonton head coach Jeff Paulus for a detailed and in-depth chat about the first Canadian Premier League season, the growth of the game in Canada, how the Eddies have built their squad this year, and much more.
There's also part three of our new episodic drama serial, we ponder which Whitecaps player you'd like to be quarantined with, Peat & Diesel finish up their residency as our artists of the month for March, and nothing stops Football Violence Awareness Month, well apart from the end of the month!

We're living in strange times. Worrying times. And let's be honest, somewhat scary times because no-one really knows what direction this whole coronavirus pandemic is going to take next. If the last week has shown us anything, it's that the situation can change dramatically by the hour, never mind by the day or week.
What we need right now is some kind of normality, and that's why we're not going anywhere at the AFTN Soccer Show and will still be bringing you weekly episodes of the show in these trouble times, to at least give you a modicum of entertainment and your football fix.
The episodes will be a little bit different in nature of course, starting with this one. There's no games to talk about for starters, but we'll look over the Whitecaps news from this past week, including a big Connect 4 win over Colorado and the club's reaction to the coronavirus crisis.
Jonathan Tannnenwald of the Philly Inquirer joins us on the phone to talk about the football shutdown across the world, the reaction to the crisis in North America, and to chat about what has been a terrible week publicity-wise for US Soccer.
With no immediate end to the coronavirus crisis in sight, could the MLS season already be over? Hopefully not, but just in case we bring you a tongue in cheek Whitecaps end of season review. Plus part one of our new football drama serial "It's Hard To Be The Son Of A Soccer Star", Football Violence Awareness Month continues in Wavelength, and Scottish band Peat & Diesel continue their residency as March's artists of the month.
Here's the rundown for the main segments from the episode:
03.57: Football has been shut down
21.49: Whitecaps and MLS coronavirus response and a Connect 4 victory
54.39: More on the coronavirus' impact on football with Jonathan Tannenwald

Vancouver Whitecaps got their first win of the new MLS in LA on Saturday night and we're going to celebrate the unexpected three points in fine fashion in this episode of the show.
We look back at the highs and lows, and the hits and the misses, from the game and hear from both head coaches. Who played themselves into further starts? Whose performances have been somewhat lacking? And does MDS now have a (nice) selection problem ahead as a result?
We also have two interviews this week, first of all sitting down with Whitecaps' right back Jake Nerwinski, then we chat with Whitecaps CEO Mark Pannes about how he is settling in to the job and his relationship with the fans, both online and in person, and plans for the future.
Plus we look into how the coronavirus is affecting football worldwide and what it might mean for MLS and the CPL, our MLS Week in Review looks at another interest week in the Western Conference, Football Violence Awareness Month continues in Wavelength, and Scottish band Peat & Diesel continue their residency as March's artists of the month.
Here's the rundown for the main segments from the episode:

The 2020 MLS season didn't get underway anyone at Vancouver Whitecaps would have hoped for. A disappointing 3-1 home loss to Sporting Kansas City saw a poor performance and a lot of the spark and optimism from the preseason disappeared quicker than snow aff a dyke for many in the fanbase.
Can they bounce back this week in LA against an offensively stacked Galaxy side?
Joe, Peter, and Nick return for AFTN's latest preview podcast to chat about just that as they look ahead to the LA game, ponder the lessons learned from last week's loss, and try and work out just what team the 'Caps could put out there that would negate what, on paper at least, should be one of the most deadly attacks in MLS.
We also empty the mailbag, as the guys will look for as many answers as they can. Have a listen!

The 2020 MLS season certainly didn't start the way Vancouver Whitecaps wanted. A 3-1 loss to Sporting Kansas City, an insipid performance, and a lot of work still to be done. If you're thinking wait a minute, this isn't 2019, let's hope you're right.
We pick over the bones of that opening day loss and try and see what few positives you can take from it. Plus we hear from both head coaches, Vancouver's Marc Dos Santos and KC's Peter Vermes.
We also bring you three interviews this episode. We hear from Whitecaps CEO Mark Pannes on the subject of ticket sales and chat about some of the off-pitch changes this season. We also chat with Whitecaps winger David Milinkovic about his move to MLS, his desire to re-start his career, and his time at Heart and Hull.
Our MLS Week in Review also looks at the MLS teams in CCL action this past week and catch up with Sporting Kansas City's Scottish forward Johnny Russell to look ahead to the season and find out what his favourite jam is.
All this plus Canadian Premier League chat, as we look at the new home kits that were revealed and transfer talk, Football Violence Awareness Month returns in Wavelength, and Scottish band Peat & Diesel continue their residency as March's artists of the month.
