The latest AFTN Soccer Show is out for another packed show of Vancouver Whitecaps, MLS, and Canadian football chat.
And what a busy week it's been.
The Whitecaps got back to winning ways with a narrow victory at home to FC Dallas on Saturday. We look at the highlights and lowlights coming out of that one, where that leaves the team after the weekend's results, and look ahead to the Houston game midweek.
And Whitecaps CEO and Sporting Director Axel Schuster joins us to chat about the new Leagues Cup format, the search for a new head coach, and the development of the 'Caps' U19s.
We also hear from MLS Commissioner Don Garber about the revamped Leagues Cup, Pacific FC's Pa-Modou Kah and Forge FC's Bobby Smyrniotis talk about One Soccer's new deal with Telus, automatic qualification to the CONCACAF Champions League from 2024 for two CPL teams, and growing the league.
Plus we look at Rob Gale's departure at Valour and hear from his replacement, former Whitecaps assistant coach Phillip Dos Santos, Pa-Modou Kah talks Canadian Championship semi-finals, Werd (SOS) ends his residency as our Artist of the Month for September, and Nottingham punk band Resistance 77 are in Wavelength as Football Violence Awareness Month wraps up.
