British Columbia is under a heat dome, but thankfully the Whitecaps lifted some of the dark clouds over the team this weekend with a battling draw in Seattle to end a five game losing streak. It wasn't enough to stop them sinking to bottom in the West but it's given some hope.

They still need a number 10 badly. Is Scottish player Ryan Gauld the man? We chat about the transfer rumour we broke and hear MDS' thoughts on the player.

Turning our attention to the international stage we look at the Canadian men's national team reaching the last round of the CONCACAF World Cup qualifying, the road ahead to reach Qatar, and chat about where we feel the seven home matches should be played. The latest AFTN Vancouver Whitecaps preview show is out.
The Whitecaps have called Sandy, Utah their home away from home so far this season. On Friday night, they'll be the away team at that home to take on Real Salt Lake as MLS gets back at it after a lengthy international break.
It's been nearly four week since the 'Caps kicked a ball in action. Head coach Marc Dos Santos has worked on some stuff at training during that time. Will we see the fruits of that labour on Friday?
Joe and Gideon return to preview the match and ponder the threat RSL pose and whether all that time in Utah makes this a more level playing field for the 'Caps, who are desperately needing to get back to winning ways after three straight road losses. What kind of Whitecaps side will we see?

The latest AFTN Soccer Show is out for another packed show of Vancouver Whitecaps, Canadian national team, and general football chat.
Most of the world's attention is on the international game this week between World Cup qualifiers and the Euros finally getting underway, and we're no different as we look at Canada's big win over Aruba and the qualifying path that awaits them this month.
But we also turn our attention to the domestic scene, as the Whitecaps make a new addition in striker Brian White, loan out forward David Egbo, and still haven't acquired a number 10 to create the chances for the strikers to finish. With hopes of heading back to Canada soon, how tough a job is it going to be to market the team after 18 months without fans and mixed results on the pitch? Do enough people still care?
We also delve into the newly announced June start to the Canadian Premier League, discuss the art of writing football songs with singer/songwriter Neil Grant, get in the Euros spirit with his latest song, and Moscow Death Brigade kick off being our Artists of the Month.

It may feel that the MLS season has only just started but perhaps aptly ahead of the upcoming Friends reunion, the Whitecaps are on a break. A lengthy 27 day one between matches. So what should the priorities be to work on over the coming weeks? We take a look into the major areas that need work. Let us know what you feel they should be working on most.

What a difference a week makes. We were all feeling quite optimistic about the Whitecaps last weekend, but two straight defeats has quickly taken the wind out of our sails a little bit, but is it really all doom and gloom?
